A Homemade Christmas 3

The last few years for Christmas we decided to make our presents. This past year we did some wood working projects.
First were these clocks.  We cut these wood squares and painted them. We painted them black first then white and used sandpaper on it to give it a distressed look. Next, we bought some clock kits from Hobby Lobby and drilled a hole in the middle of the wood. Before putting the clock kit together we transferred a photo onto the painted wood using these instructions. Just make sure to remember to print everything opposite of the way you want it because you will lay the photo face down to transfer.  The last step is to attach the clock kit and you have a custom wood clock!

Next, we made the trays. We cut the pieces of wood to the size of tray we wanted and attached them, then we stained it and added the letter.  Lastly, we added the hardware.  On the lantern, we painted it the same as we did the clocks to give it a distressed look. Once all the pieces are cut, the lantern is actually very easy to put together.

And who doesn't like food? We made some homemade barbecue sauce and kettle corn. We printed some labels and made a very easy and fun gift! The kettle corn we made using this Whirly Pop popcorn maker. We use it all the time! It makes great popcorn!
